Dota 2 behaviour score — how to raise it and what Profile Changer does

Your behaviour score decides who you are matched with and whether you can type at all. Below is how it works, what drops it and how to bring it back — and separately, what the Profile Changer module actually spoofs and what it does not.

How behaviour and communication scores work

A Dota 2 profile carries two separate numbers. Behaviour covers conduct in the game: abandons, leaving, sabotage, low priority. Communication covers chat and voice, including toxicity reports. They are counted separately, so one can drop while the other holds.

What matters about the mechanic:

  • The value does not move instantly. Valve recalculates periodically and sends a report, so after a few calm games the number can still sit where it was.
  • It falls faster than it rises. One abandon or a wave of reports takes noticeably more than a single clean game returns.
  • A low value is a matchmaking problem. You get put with people in the same bracket, and game quality drops regardless of your skill.
  • Chat restrictions are separate. A communication mute is not fixed by playing quietly with chat still on — the source of reports has to go.

How to actually raise your behaviour score

There is no fast route — the number only comes back through games played without incidents. What genuinely works:

  1. Do not abandon. This single point hits harder than everything else combined.
  2. Remove the source of reports. If complaints come from communication, turn voice and text chat off while you climb. The number recovers and the cause disappears.
  3. Play roles you know. A failed game on an unfamiliar position collects reports from your own team — and those count the same as anyone else’s.
  4. Finish lost games. Unpleasant, but a played-out loss returns the score faster than a win you left at the end.
  5. Wait for the report. Recalculation is periodic: checking the number every game tells you nothing.

If your main has dropped so far that climbing is not worth the hours, starting from a clean step is more sensible — the Dota 2 accounts with an open rank section has options for every medal.

What Profile Changer does and what it does not

Profile Changer spoofs what your own client displays. In the September 15, 2026 version it can change the displayed behaviour score, communication score, Dota Plus status and rank confidence (full change list).

i

To be straight about it: the real value lives on Valve’s side and that is what matchmaking uses. The module changes the picture in the client, not the score itself — raising it for real still takes games.

What people use it for: getting a number that nags them off the screen, showing a status in a screenshot or a stream, seeing how a profile looks with a different value. Everything to do with matchmaking and chat restrictions stays on Valve’s side.

If the goal is understanding the real rating picture rather than changing how it is displayed, see the MMR tracker.

How to enable Profile Changer

  1. Launch Umbrella (pick a plan and download the loader).
  2. Open the Profile Changer section in the menu and enable the module.
  3. Tick what to spoof: behaviour, communication, Dota Plus, rank confidence.
  4. Set the values the client should display.
  5. Save the config to the cloud — config section.

Is it safe

There is risk with any third-party software. Umbrella runs client-side, the spoofer masks the HWID and configs live in the cloud rather than on disk. An honest breakdown is in "Is cheating bannable in Dota 2".

FAQ

What lowers your behaviour score in Dota 2?

Abandons and leaving, confirmed reports for sabotage and toxicity, and time spent in low priority. Behaviour and communication are counted separately: communication reports hit the second number.

How do you raise a behaviour score quickly?

There is no quick way. The score returns through games played without incidents, and a played-out loss is worth more than a win you abandoned. If reports come from communication, turn chat and voice off while you climb.

When does the behaviour score update?

Valve recalculates periodically and sends a report rather than moving the number after every game. That is why it can sit still after several calm matches.

Does Profile Changer change the real score?

No. The module spoofs what your client renders. The real value lives on Valve’s side and that is what matchmaking uses.

Do other players see the spoofed value?

No. Other clients read the data from Valve’s servers, while the module works only on your side.
