What is Demon Eater

One of the oldest immortal effects in Dota 2. Replaces Shadow Fiend's soul visuals with burning embers and adds a new Requiem of Souls effect.

Immortal items drop only from events, caches and battle passes. After the sale ends, unlimited immortals reach the Steam Community Market, where the price forms freely. Limited ones (like this one) can be absent from the market for years.

This immortal is one of the "older" ones (2014). The market supply is limited, the price is on average stable or rising.

How much it costs to get Demon Eater via different methods:

Steam Market

$19.89 Purchase via Steam, Valve's 15% fee, a queue wait of up to 24 hours. You need Steam Trading set up.

Umbrella Skin Changer

from $2.99 Any immortal or arcana from the catalog as part of the subscription. Activation — one click.

The Umbrella subscription gives access to all immortals and arcanas — not just Demon Eater. Over the long run it's 5–15 times cheaper than buying each item separately through the Steam Market.

How to activate via the Skin Changer

  1. Buy the Umbrella subscription (from $2.99 for 3 days, you can test it on one game).
  2. Open the Skin Changer module in the Umbrella menu.
  3. Find Shadow Fiend in the hero list → choose Demon Eater.
  4. Click "Apply" — the skin is active for the next game.
  5. In replays and for allies — the skin shows as a regular immortal.

A detailed module guide is on the Skin Changer page. An alternative path via arcanas — /en/skins/arcana/.

Skin Changer safety

The Skin Changer is a client-side modification, nothing is sent to the Valve server. From the anticheat's point of view it's a "harmless" category on par with a custom HUD: the ban rate for a pure skin changer trends to zero.

Combined with the Umbrella spoofer the risk is reduced further. A detailed honest breakdown — "Do you get banned for cheats in Dota 2".

FAQ

Do allies see Demon Eater?

No. The Skin Changer applies the skin only on the client — allies and enemies see the standard model. If you want to show the immortal in a replay or stream — that works only locally.

Will the immortal go with my arcana?

Yes. Most immortal items are compatible with arcanas (e.g. Demon Eater + the Shadow Fiend arcana). The Skin Changer lets you combine any combinations regardless of what's in your Steam inventory.

What happens if the subscription expires?

The skin layouts deactivate — the standard model returns on the next game. Progress is saved: when the subscription resumes, the whole settings set is restored.

Can I sell Demon Eater via a bot after Umbrella?

No. The Skin Changer does not give a real item in the Steam inventory — it's a visual substitution. If you need a real item for trading, you'll have to buy it on the Steam Market.

What other immortals are there on Shadow Fiend?

In the Umbrella Skin Changer all known Dota 2 immortal items are available (several hundred). On Shadow Fiend the catalog usually has 4–8 immortals and 1 arcana. The full list — inside the module.
