How to Spot a Fake Umbrella

Official communication channels

Official Umbrella operates only through these sources:

• umbrella-dota.com — our only website.
• umbrella-dota.com/en/support/ — live support chat directly on the site.
• the live chat on the Support page — the official contact channel for legal matters.
• the live chat on the Support page — for phishing and fake complaints too.
• Payment provider: DigiSeller (digiseller.ru) — we do not use any other payment systems.

Any other domains such as umbrella-cheat.ru, umbrella-dota.net, get-umbrella.com are fakes. The list changes weekly — scammers rotate addresses. We have no Telegram channels, Discord servers or VK groups — regardless of what anyone claims.

Main scam schemes

1. Fake copycat website

A copy of the Umbrella design on a similar domain (one letter changed). Payment goes to the scammers — the money is gone, access is never granted. Or worse — after payment a trojaned loader arrives.

2. Fake loader with a trojan

Free Umbrella "with no payment" on torrents, in Discord servers of rival cheats, in YouTube videos. Inside — a password stealer for Steam accounts, wallets, and bank cards. The most widespread scheme.

3. Fake "support" in a chat

Scammers write as Umbrella, say re-activation is needed → a link to a Steam phishing site → password and Steam Guard entry → account hijacked.

4. Requests for your password

"To verify your payment we need your Steam password" — NEVER. No cheat's support team will ever ask for Steam account credentials.

5. Fake refund

"A refund for your previous purchase — click the link and enter your payment details." The goal — your bank card.

Security checklist

• ✓ Buy only through umbrella-dota.com. Check the URL in the address bar.
• ✓ Payment goes through DigiSeller (digiseller.ru). If someone asks for a transfer to a personal card — they are a scammer.
• ✓ Access is granted after payment on the /en/pricing/ page. The loader arrives via a link in the email after a successful transaction. The file hash can be verified — it is sent in the same email as the link.
• ✓ Support — only via the live chat at /en/support/. No private messages on social networks.
• ✓ NO support agent will ever ask for your Steam password, Steam Guard code, or card PIN.
• ✓ If you receive a suspicious message from someone claiming to be Umbrella — screenshot it and send to our support chat; we will block the scammer within 1 hour.
• ✓ To verify an EXE — use VirusTotal. The genuine Umbrella Loader is flagged by 2–4 engines as "hack tool" (not a virus, just a software class). If flagged by 15+ engines — it is a trojan.

If you already fell for it

1. Downloaded a fake loader → run a full scan with Windows Defender + Malwarebytes. Change the passwords on all accounts (Steam, email, bank).
2. Entered your password on a phishing site → change your Steam password immediately → enable Steam Guard (mobile authenticator) → check active sessions in settings.
3. Steam account was hijacked → file a request with Steam Support: help.steampowered.com. Attach purchase history and email receipts. Recovery usually takes 3–7 days.
4. Money was charged from a card → call your bank and request a chargeback.
5. Tell us via contacts — we will add the domain to the public fake list and warn the community.
