How to set a default build in Umbrella

On every launch, Umbrella loads the last saved local profile by default. If you have several builds for different heroes or roles — you need to set a "default" and convenient switching. We break down the structure and hotkey bindings.

Where the settings files are stored

Umbrella's local presets are saved in the folder:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Umbrella\configs\

Each .ucfg file is a separate set of scripts and binds. Cloud presets sync via the subscription and are available on any machine.

Setting a default profile

  1. Open Umbrella → the Configs section.
  2. Find the entry in the list → right click → Set as Default.
  3. Restart the app — the chosen profile now loads automatically.

For cloud presets you can set the default via the web interface at cloud.umbrella-dota.com/configs (available with the subscription).

Hotkey switching in-game

It's useful to keep 2-3 ready presets and switch by hotkey:

  • Default (mid Invoker) — the main set for your main hero.
  • Support (Lion/CM) — switch if you got a support in the draft.
  • Skin Changer only — for unranked play without scripts.

Hotkey binding: Settings → Hotkeys → Config Switcher. Assign Ctrl+F1, Ctrl+F2, Ctrl+F3 — switching is instant even in the draft phase.

Cloud presets for different machines

If you play on several computers (home / friend / internet cafe), use cloud sync:

  1. Open the entry → Upload to Cloud.
  2. Log in to Umbrella on the second PC with the same account.
  3. Cloud → Download Latest — the file is pulled locally.

FAQ

Can you set different configs for different plans?

The plan doesn't affect configs — they're tied to the account. Cloud configs are available on any active plan.

What to do if a config breaks?

Configs → right click the config → Restore from Cloud. If there's no cloud backup — reset via Reset to Defaults.

How to share a config with a friend?

Configs → Export Code → send the 16-digit code to your friend. They import via Add by Code.
